Returning friends

Thinking Spring at the moment, and even though it's still chilly, I have the warm weather to look forward to. In this case, I made a few outfits for the upcoming warmth that I will soon appreciate. I went in the attic to retrieve my long lost friends- a few pairs of shoes that I put away for the winter, and was excited to create new outfits with them. I am especially excited to wear the string-up pair because I don't think I've ever worn them before. I pilfered this first dress from my mothers drawer, hopefully she doesn't mind, it's actually a slip and it's light light blue rather than the champagne color that it is in the picture. The second picture was originally worn with tights, but why wear tights when you can show off your legs? So I said screw the tights and off they went. The third outfit isn't very exciting, but I figured it was a cute, simple outfit for a day.

ah. Lazy Saturday

I got up this morning and made a huge breakfast for my sister and myself because my parents and my brother were at a lax game. I'm so good to her. Then, I got bundled up and headed to a lax game myself. None of my friends had arrived at the same time as me (which was a shocker because I am ALWAYS late), so being the loser that I am, I waited in my car by myself, listened to the radio (I forgot my across the universe CD at home. boo.), and basked in the sun hoping to get even the slightest tan as the sun came through my sunroof and aimed perfectly at my face. Even a slight sun burn would have been acceptable, as I am desperate for some color. If you must know, I wore jeans, black boots, my blue Kentucky university hoodie, and a dark brown faux-leather jacket. Sounds hideous.. but I didn't look that bad, not that I cared, I was at a high school lacrosse game for goodness sake. Anyway, I got home and had to take some medicine for some new illness I've developed and it made me feel like super shit. So I decided that I'd just make some outfits rather than watch the Kids Choice Awards with my family. Here's what I came up with. Inspiration came from fashion toast.

It's really a shame that I won't be able to wear the shirt with tights, it's much too short for school and maneuvering. But I do think I like the green shirt best.

Twenty-fifth of March

These are possible outfits for this week or the next. I'm thinking I should wear the black shirt and tights soon, however, because eventually, I will fall into a total state of spring-apparel and will never want to go back into the depths of winter cold. I'm so excited to wear florals and lose the tights and boots. I'm a little self-conscious about my legs (thigh area) so not extremely thrilled about shorts, but I will be disiplined and work out! Well at least that's what I'm claiming as of now..

I'm thinking this outfit is better for further into spring than now. it's still a little chilly. opinions on that?

skirt: american eagle that i made high-waisted, shoes: target, shirt: jcrew, necklaces: i have no idea

skirt: american eagle, shirt: jcrew, shoes: used to be my aunts from prom, necklaces: ??

Jumping for Joy

I just want to start off by saying, sorry for my weird poses and faces. Just being my weird self with a new birthday camera =P.

Anyway, for my birthday, my friends and I went to South Side Works to dine at the Cheesecake Factory and also go shopping. We didn't get as much shopping in as we initially planned, but I was still able to find a few things to buy, though I'm burning a hole in my pocket-Ok, maybe a crater.
Anyway, the shoes are new from urban, as is the polka dot and gray skirt from f21. I also got some sunnies and a rad scarf.

Oompa Loompa

Apparently, I looked like an Oopa Loompa when I wore this outfit to school. Not only did my science project fail to work, but I also got made fun of by the usually-nice-to-me-but-now-ass-hole-guys in my class for two periods. No matter how much I tried to justify myself, nothing prevented them from making dick remarks. Nevertheless, I wore it the rest of the day with pride, as those guys apparently know nothing about what I choose to wear or why. For the most part, my friends and acquaintances found that my outfit was an adequate choice for the day.

Outfit Post and Lunar Eclipse

I recently, ok maybe not so recently, but I made this shirt after seeing someone (I can't remember who it was) else had made one. The sunglasses added a cool effect to the shirt that I really liked, thus I created my own. It was fairly simple.
-I traced the picture onto the shirt with a pencil
- painted over the pencil with black fabric paint I bought from Michael's (with a piece of cardboard between the front and back fabric of the shirt; this made it easier to paint and also prevented bleeding of the paint)
- let it dry

-put a piece of paper over top of it to heat set the paint via ironing

For the rest of the outfit, I'm pulling the Scandinavian style and used an old American Eagle tube top as a tight mini and wore opaque black tights. Contradictory to the usual flat oxford-like shoe or Ked, usually seen on Lisa, I opted for a pair of black and white polka dot pumps.

Yeah there was a lunar eclipse the other night, so I decided to take a picture
